Because we don’t live in a binary system of “red” and “blue” states, here’s a much more realistic representation of the US, by: 1.) State level, 2.) County level, 3.) Popular vote, and big map 4.) accounting for population density.
This is what the US electoral map actually looks like- they’re your neighbors and friends, and most importantly Americans.

The old definition of a shared national experience was watching TV at the same time. This shared experience is happening with TV in the background. The Internet is our connection machine and Twitter is the new Times Square.
