Dataviz doodling: I recently attended a panel given by a DC think tank. The presenter mentioned that a major finding of their research study was that there was a positive correlation between GDP and philanthropic giving (wealthier countries donate more to charity).
They presented a map of the findings. I couldn’t “see” the correlation so I sketched a quick scatter plot during the discussion. Yep, there it is — kind of. (They purposely examined countries with GDPs at both ends of the spectrum, hence a gap in the middle.)
